For a moment, things got so bad that my ex and I stopped talking for a bit, but we're fine now, thankfully. While I wouldn't mind seeing my ex go hook up and be happy with a stranger, there is an undeniable sting when it's with someone you know. Maybe if we didn't have the capacity to feel jealousy and insecurity, we could all just have a big happy orgy.

We don't live in the same town and I haven't seen her in a year or him since November. My ex husband was a child who didn't want to grow up. He expressed several times that he didn't believe in me. Over the years, (I was with him for six and a half) I became good friends with his childhood best friend; more like a brother to him. We hooked up, assuming it would be a one time thing and he moved.
Strangely enough I am not breaking down about the whole thing. He lacked emotional intelligence and had serious entitlement issues, to the point that he didn't feel like he should pay rent and insisted that we live with is parents. I turned down three job opportunities in a month and a half because he refused to move with me. We would talk about his girl problems, life in general, college, the job search and eventually my frustrations with my husband. Neither of us realized that our feelings weren't just sex until it happened. We know each other well enough to know that we could have an amazing life together.
When I was a sophomore in high school, my best friend started dating my ex behind m back (while I was on vacation! The situation was a total mess – we got into a huge fight, I lost my best friend forever and it set the stage for a ton of fun insecurities and trust issues.
If it’s never happened to you, let me first say you’re lucky and then let me say that it absolutely sucks.
Haven't cried or gotten really angry, but at the same time this feels like a betrayal. I just deleted him from my contacts and left him with silence. Please know that I was trying to glean any insight he might have and gain a male perspective on the situation. I will NEVER ask him to choose and we will ALWAYS be friends.
I guess I am wondering what any one else thinks about the situation. The divorce s finalized about 4 months ago and I just got the final paperwork on her getting her half of my retirement about a week ago. Although we had a connection and I believe we both were physically attracted to each other, our relationship was ALWAYS platonic. I hope what I have shared gives you a little more to think about given your situation.
At first she’s so supportive and nice and says all the right encouraging things. She swears once again that nothing is happening between them, but you don’t believe her. A few days later, you see her write on his Facebook wall and you’re so mad you don’t know what to do.
Then, out of nowhere, she starts to get weird about it whenever you bring up his name. A few weeks later, you find out (somehow) that she’s been really friendly with your ex.
Still, what I found most interesting is when I would go to friends and ask for advice on the issue and some people would say to me, "Your ex has a right to make a move on your best friend.
